Members of an extended family gathered this week at Church Headquarters, where the patriarch of the family, a newly called Mission President, was set apart by Elder Robert D Hales.
One of the daughters of the newly called mission president said Elder Hales was incredibly loving towards their family. She said he seemed exactly what she believed was Christ-like. She said she wanted him to stay with the family all day.
Elder Hale’s told the family that the mother was the barometer of the family. If the family is well, the mother will be happy. Conversely, if someone in the family isn't well, the mother cannot be either. He said: “It's the nature of mothers.”
The family was getting ready to leave, and surprisingly they were invited to meet President Monson. Lucky family!
