I've lost my marbles!
Marshall Tyler Harris was born one year ago today. Because his eyes were SO huge, he soon acquired the aka, Mr. Marbles. I thought his mama had big eyes when she was a baby, but Marshall's eyes are about twice as big as Ann's eyes. Well, maybe not twice as big, but bigger than I remember Ann's eyes. Today Marshall has "grown into" his eyes. They're still large, but they fit his chubby little face just fine.
Two weeks ago, I was able to spend a week with this special guy, while his mom and dad were asked to spend a few days being ma & pa to eight teenagers as they reenacted a Pioneer Trek. (When the Latter-day Saints longed to gather in the West from 1856 to 1860, handcarts were a means of helping them on their journey. Today, youth and adults seek to grasp the spirit of faith, courage and determination these saints represented. Many youth dress the part and pull handcarts over the original trial; others pull handcarts on land in their areas. No matter where they are, all who participate open themselves to having their hearts touched by the pioneers’ sacrifices and testimonies of the Savior. The first of the Mormon pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley in July 1846. I never let a July go by without remembering my pioneer ancestors. I am forever grateful for their sacrifices.) While Ann and Tyler were trekking, I was having a great time with Mr. Marbles. Today Marshall is back with his family, and I have lost my marbles. I miss him! He is such a sweetie. Happy Birthday Marshall. You're one-year-old today.
Marshall, what big eyes you have! Look at those eyes. Compare Marshall's eyes to Jamison's eyes. And, BTW, Jamison's baby blues are not beady little eyes by any means.

Megan Johanson
DOB: 06/26/06
Another Birthday
Megan Johanson
One of the June girls.
Jamison June starts the month with her birthday on June 3rd. Then comes Tara on June 16th. Next we have Torie celebrating on June 24th. Today we celebrate again, June 26th, little Miss Megan turns two!
Megan is such a love. Elizabeth has done a great job chronicling Megan's second year. And, I am so glad she has, because Iowa is so far away!
PS- Clayton Roy Romberg also celebrates today. Kinda fun that Megan was born on Clayton's birthday, since Elizabeth and Clayton became such good cousin-buddies back in their good ol' college days.

This just cannot be true...

Ten today! Torie Lisa Marshall is ten-years-old! Our first grandchild has been with us for over a decade. I remember so vividly the morning she was born. She was SO tiny, our smallest newborn yet. She weighted just a little more than a five pound sack of sugar, and was just as sweet. "Here's looking at you kid." Humphrey Bogart, Casablana (One of grandpa Marshall's all time favorite movies). And you'd better believe, he's looking at you kid.

Happy Birthday Torie!

***Dressed in White***
Tara was baptized today, by her father. Each Spring, the Statistical Report of the Church is presented at General Conference. Two months ago, the report was given. A total of 93,698 children of record were baptized in 2007. Next year the number of children of record that are baptized in 2008 will be presented. Tara will be one of thousands. But, for today, for a brief moment in time, the newest member of the Church was Tara Lee Marshall.

~It's great to be eight~

Tara Lee Marshall

06/16/00
It's her turn. Tara turned eight-years-old today. She will be
baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on Saturday.

I always marvel at the uniqueness of the personalities of each of our individual family members. I am not sure why I find this fact so interesting. Truth be known, we each come to earth with our distinct personalities. That's such a good thing. Life would be so boring if we were all alike. This little miss is definately not boring. She is one of a kind, and I sure do love her.

Happy Birthday Tara!

Happy Father's Day

Terry LOVED being a dad. He loved, and of course still loves, all of his children. All are married now (with the exception of Sam), and as each spouse joined the family, he or she was drawn into the family circle instantaneously. Terry's love just kept multiplying. Today, all of the boys are now fathers, and all of the girls are now mothers (with the exception of Sam).

~WOW~

Better mothers & fathers CANNOT be found.

"...with the exception of Sam..."

Just because Samuel is not yet married, and just because Samuel's children are still waiting for their turn on earth, does not mean Samuel is going to be excluded from this fantastic group of outstanding fathers and mothers. His day will come, and he will be one of 'em. In the meantime, Sam is "Uncle Sam" to thirteen, and soon to be fifteen, nieces and nephews.

A better Uncle CANNOT be found.
