27 April 2008
Happy Birthday two-year-old.
What a sweet little guy.
Owen is one of the most tenderhearted people I know.
He just melts my heart. Today is his birthday.
This is a picture taken in Las Vegas,
while Owen and Mya were home in San Diego playing Xbox.
Well, Mya apprears to be playing.
We are actually talking to each other via Xbox cameras.
What incredible technically!
What a great time in history to be born.
Owen has definately been held in reserve,
to be born at such a time as this!
I sure do love this boy!

This boy called me last night, TWICE!
He actually was trying to get in touch with his Uncle Sam,
but I was the lucky one to get the call.

Latter-day Saints fast?
The new Harris Home
Here's a copy of the email Tyler sent to family members this past Sunday:
Subject: Modern Day Miracle
We are writing each of you to thank you for praying and fasting last Sunday, on our behalf, regarding the selling our home. In our current home, space was getting a little tight, and we knew that eventually we would grow out of it, and have to sell. We found a home in our price range near by that was a little larger and we felt strongly that it was the right home for us. But, in order to buy the new home, we needed to sell our home quickly! So we put it up for sale just less than one week ago. I’m happy to report that last night we sold our home at a price that would allow us to purchase the other home. With the ecomony the way it is today, we truly believe that our prayers have been answered, and we have witnessed a modern miracle that will bless our family. Again, we feel so blessed to know each of you and thought about you last Sunday as you were praying and fasting for us.
Thank you all!

Hmmmmmmm...
Well, it snowed, at school today. Sarah didn't wear her warm jacket to school. Ann thought she'd be the nice mother and take Sarah's jacket over to school. Ann went to the classroom and was told, by the teacher, that it was recess and Sarah was out on the playground. Ann went out to the playground to give Sarah her jacket. Ann didn't see Sarah. Ann went back and told the teacher that Sarah wasn't out there, only to be told by the teacher that she was out there and that Ann just didn't see Sarah. Truth be known, Sarah WASN'T outside. Sarah and her girlfriend, who just happens to be President Hinckley's great granddaughter, were in the principal's office. The girls didn't want to go outside without their jackets, so they went into the bathroom, into the stall, stood on top of the toilet, and hoped no one would know.

You must've been a beautiful baby...
...'cause baby look at you now!
A great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to Tyson!

He is so very handsome!
I remember so very well the night this boy was born. He was born on Sunday evening, after General Conference, and after Sacrament Meeting. We listened to General Conference on the radio, as we sat outside, in the backyard. We were renting the home of the Patriarch, who was away with his wife, serving a mission. At 6:00 PM, we were attending Sacrament Meeting. Yes, "back in the day" we had Sacrament Meeting, in the evening, after the last session of General Conference. We were sitting on the back row. There was a sister giving a talk, and she called on several people from the congregation to come up and hold her pictures. Yes, she had visual aids! I don't know if it was against policy back then to have visual aids, but it sure is today. She called on Terry to go hold one of her pictures. I couldn't believe it! I was sitting there, trying to quietly work my way through the first stages of labor, and there went Terry. Good grief, I was debating even going to Sacrament Meeting, and now Terry was heading up to the stand. Oh boy! Well, 7:30 PM came, and the Sacrament meeting ended. We were headed out, and one of my friends, Carma Bean said: "Be sure to call me when you go to the hospital, and I will watch Tad." I told her, that we would be heading to the hospital very soon. We went home, Carma came and picked up Tad, and we headed to the hospital. Tyson made his appearance a few minutes after 11:00 PM. He was three days early. To this day he would rather be early than late! Every Spring, at General Conference time I relive, in my mind, that great day when Tyson left his heavenly home to join us here on earth.
I stand in awe that I got to be his mom!

The 178th Annual General Conference of the Church
Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, 2008
I love General Conference!

I love the messages. I love the music. I love the motivation.
This time, I was able to attend with my beautiful granddaughter,
Torie Lisa Marshall.
I used to call Tracy, a sponge!
When she was a new member of the Church she just soaked up everything!
She is an incredible learner. Several months ago, I was able to hear her speak in Sacrament Meeting. She gave a wonderful talk! She continues to amaze me! I am a real believer in the saying "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." This is so evident with our Torie. She looks so much like her mother, and she is a sponge! Torie was so excited to attend Conference.
This was her first time. She just took in everything.
Sarah wrote about the details of our trip on her blog.
I am posting some photos.

April Fools' Day

April 1, also called All Fools' Day, has been observed for centuries in several countries. The timing of the holiday seems related to the vernal equinox (one of the two days in the year when the sun is exactly above the equator, and nighttime and daytime are the same length). The vernal equinox marks the beginning of spring (usually around March 21), when nature "fools" mankind with sudden changes in the weather.
I would say that about 99% of the time...
I fall for every April Fools' Day joke!
